Dave and I have had some funny situations in the last couple days, and we just thought you guys might get a kick out of them like we did...
Dave the Heartbreaker
Early last week, Dave was sitting in class. With his laptop out and thinking cap on he must have looked pretty cute, because this happy girl came up and sat right next to him. They talked for a bit, Dave was being polite, but he couldn't help notice she was being a little friendly. Not really knowing what to do he just sort of just talked with her without being flirty or anything. But then she asked about his weekend...bad move on her part. Little did she know we had just been married that weekend! Dave, seeing this as an opportunity to be honest but still polite, informed her of the sad news. He opened up his laptop and let her see a picture from our wedding that he had on his desktop. The disappointment was noticeable. :( Poor girl! Don't blame her for being sad!!! She was a little less friendly after that. Oh Dave, you little heartbreaker you!
Awkward Post-Concert Encounter
On this last Friday and Saturday, Dave had a concert for Men's Chorus. It was wonderful! I went with my good friend Linda, Dave's cousin, to the concert. She just married Dave's cousin last semester so we've had a fun time being little newlyweds together. After having enjoyed ourselves thoroughly from the beautiful, fun music from the audition choirs of BYU, we exited into the hall of the Harris Fine Arts Center. It was really crowded so there was some pushing as we all exited. I went past a guy in the hall, and he said, "excuse me..." I thought I had run into him or something. I looked back and said sorry and had some weird eye contact with him, realizing I'd misunderstood him. He wanted to talk to me! Ah! He was like, "I haven't met you!" I didn't really know how to respond...I tried to keep my left hand visible...I just replied, "No, you haven't," not in a mean way but an "I don't know what to say" way. He was like, "Well, does that mean I don't get to?" Linda in the meantime was just being polite, waiting for the conversation to end. She couldn't hear what we were talking about, so she just thought we were friends or something. But anyway, after having a forced awkward conversation about whether or not we liked the concert, I said nice to meet you and left. Oh man. Funny times.
Cute Little Love-Struck Abby...
I don't know if anyone else noticed, but Abby was super-de-duper cute to Dave on Sunday! She was following him around, asking him questions, accepting compliments with a simple, "I know..." She was so darling! I guess Dave just has a way with cute little girls that make them fall in love with him! As we were getting ready to head to the car at the end of the night, I asked for a hug from Abby. She quickly but kindly hugged me, but seemed eager to give Dave his hug. Abby gave Dave a nice loving hug, and then she did something we were informed she had never done before. She gave Dave a juicy kiss on the cheek! :) Dave said she was going for the lips, but that he turned his head because he was so surprised! Oh Abby. Someday you will get your prince, and he won't turn his head when you go in for the kill!
I just thought this was all so funny because it happened all within the same week. We're so glad to have each other! We're glad we are where we are. It's always nice to know you still got it even after you're married though! I mean, how could anyone resist this?
;) Just kidding. Love you guys. Hope you enjoyed the mini romantic comedies.

ReplyDeleteWay to defend your marriage. You are married! It is almost hard to believe even though I saw it happen, because we don't see you married. It feels real good though. You make a perfect pair!
ReplyDeleteLove you
