Christmas and Mexico

My parent's house with the girls.

da boys

Santa!!! Nice upgrade in your outfit this year, Santa!

We had a little dance on our family's Christmas party. All the nieces wanted to dance with Dave. It was really cute.

Dave is one of Luke's favorites! He just cuddles with Dave.

The beautiful Mrs. Claus.

Drawing the beautiful Mexican kids. This was so wonderful!!! It was a very bonding experience.

The crew!

Giving soccer ball drawing lessons to my new best buddie Francisco.

Roofing the house! Dave had the oh so luxurious job of tarring the seams in the roofing material.

Shopping at the "Cardboard Mall" in Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) Mexico.

Dave found Nephi's bow in one of the stores

This is Phillip. He was shy but very sweet.

Dave and I dancing at a party with all of the families we served with in Mexico building houses. It was a rare sight (me dancing) but it was really fun!

Dave was everybody's translator, and he LOVED it! He loves the Mexican people so much.

The inside of the house we built.

These two were inseparable, and very silly! These were fake teeth that they teased us with. The one on the left is Francisco, and the one on the right is Jared.

Beautiful Mexican girl that loved being around us. She would leave Kim or me!

We just can't even explain how wonderful this experience was. Thanks Mom and Dad for this great service opportunity, the great condo (not excluding breathtaking sunsets and sunrises over the ocean), the fabulous food (Dave couldn't get enough of it!) and the way it allowed us to all bond together.
And to you Petersons, we had a wonderful time with you too! We wish we had pictures to share. Dave fell in love with his brand new nephew Seth (Ben and Celeste's new baby boy). Dave wanted to hold him all of the time. And going caroling is always fun!!! I also got to talk to my mystery brother-in-law Mike, who is on a mission in Japan. He is doing such a wonderful job and it seems like he tells us about a new baptism every week!

Dave's words to describe Christmas break are:

Rejuvenating
Rewarding
Delicious
Inspiring

We hope your Christmas break was wonderful! Good luck to everyone starting school and getting back into life! We love you all and were so happy to spend such memorable time with family.

  2. Super jealous. That is all I can say. I caught the Humanitarian bug approx. 6 years ago and my life has never been the same. I'm so glad you guys got to go. However, I am also VERY excited that you are back! See you in P-town!

  3. What great documentation to a great experience! And I love that you thought to draw for the kids Anna. I bet they'll keep those forever. What a creative way to serve (on top of everything else you guys did)!
