Birthday Marathon

Dave's birthday was super fun this year. We were spoiled with numerous parties from friends and family. Dave turned 24 this year! He has been home from his mission for three years. Crazy.

Dave has been such a trooper these last couple of months. Soooo much going on between the two of us. I'm pretty sure I only did the dishes once in the past week or two. He's really been helping out as I work hard on my final show, and as I deal with my knee injury (hyperextended during volleyball class. A guy from the other team went under the net while spiking and landed on my knee. No serious injury occurred, and no surgery is required.) .

He started the celebrations with a delicious meal at Tucanos Brazilian grill. We perused around Riverwoods while we waited for our table. We found a great toy store with excellent sunglasses.

Tucanos was having a special with seafood, so Dave got to have all of the shrimp he could eat. Oh how our stomachs screamed with joy and pain. So much food. I think I've had my meat intake for the next three months.

Michael and Kylie joined us for an outdoor concert at Sammy's in Provo. Fictionist, a space-rock local band, played after two other bands and an insane violinist who had mad dance skillz. Her art was playing violin with techno-dance music. It was...interesting. She was very passionate about her art!

Two band members from Fictionist went to my high school, but just a few years ahead of me. It was really fun to see them. We were so close!

Then on Saturday afternoon, with his boys, Dave got to do do manly things like shooting guns at targets and clay pidgeons. Thanks friends for helping to keep him well rounded. Dave loves his friends and I was so glad he got to spend some time with them since chances like those are few and far between these days. Later that night we enjoyed a fabulous version of The Scarlet Pimpernel, performed by the lovely and talented Peterson family (Joseph, Adrienne, and Rebekah) with the junior high. Never seen such lovely and wholesome townspeople and dancers. Jose was sporting his make-up very well. Those Petersons sure are blessed with beautiful eyes!

Next, we joined a party for Crave with the Poulsens. We spent the night dancing, rock banding, and jamming with guitars. Steve, Amanda and Crave, there's not quite anything like those late night serenades. Jazzy acoustic singing/guitar makes me one happy camper.

(Yes Craven, I stole these from your blog. Hope that's okay)

Okay, just two more. Sunday. My family had a bash for the BIL (Brother-in-law) club. I can't really remember who is Colonial or General or President or CEO...

Josh, we love you. Thanks for giving Dave kisses at every greeting, and for keeping his arms warm (my siblings gave Dave some sleeves for when he runs). Mom, thank you for the delectable shrimp and steak. What a feast.

Monday night was super fun because it was, and I quote, "the first Surprise party where I have actually been surprised." Thanks to everyone who came so last minute, and sorry to those who I missed contacting. I was functioning without a telephone (this seems to happen a lot these days. If you're trying to contact me, use email or facebook). We had root beer floats and lots of balloons.

We love our friends and family! Thanks for helping me make Dave feel special this year!
