Dave Presenting His Poster in Paris

I've been missing Dave a lot while he has been gone. We're not used to being apart very much. I think in our whole marriage (2 years) we've missed less than a dozen days. Luckily, we have google+ hangouts (like skype) to make the distance seem a bit smaller. This was a funny moment captured from one of our hangout sessions. (am I the only one that thinks it is funny that google's version of skype is called "hanging out?" Is it okay to hangout since we're married?)

And here he is, presenting his poster at the international conference on alzheimer's disease. I'm so proud of him. He has worked so hard to get where he is. It makes me so happy to see all of his hard work pay of.

We are both very aware that so many of you have helped us too. Thanks to those who have read personal statements, consulted with us about schools, made us dinner, and made calls of encouragement. We are overwhelmed at the kindness of our friends and family as we embark on this crazy journey. Dave's just getting some of his secondary applications in, and then the waiting begins. If you want to see more pictures of Dave's trip, he's put up a bunch on his facebook. Love to you all.

  1. you guys are the best! and i think it's okay; me and nick hang out all the time! it's the people who aren't married yet who shouldn't be hanging out, haha, according to Elder Oaks!

  2. I bet you are so proud of him! That is such an amazing opportunity that most students never get. I think it is pretty awesome. Jake and I are doing the same thing in October in San Francisco. These boys are such hard workers! I love it.

  3. Congrats to you both! It's exciting to see your husband succeeding. I agree, time away from each other is not very fun (having just gotten back this morning from a trip home), but I'm glad you're doing well. :)
