Heart Day Happiness

Dave and I had quite the eventful Valentines Day/President's Day weekend! Friday was our Married Student Stake dance. It was so fun to get all dressed up and to see Dave get excited about wearing his tux! I borrowed a wonderful fur coat from my parent's costume closet and put on some nice red lipstick for the red and pink occasion. So after getting all dolled up we went to Cafe Rio in our dance outfits. We got a lot of funny looks, but the delicious food was worth it. Here's the picture we got taken of us as we entered the dance (Isn't this sooo like a High School dance?! It made it that much more fun).

I just wore a bridesmaid dress from this last summer. During the middle of the dance, two cute toddlers decided they had had enough of the babysitters, and wanted to dance themselves. They were INCREDIBLY cute dancing together during a slow song. The pair were even swaying back and forth to the rhythm. I had to get a picture of them.

After we had a few friends over for a movie, and that was our Friday.

Saturday was fun for me because I got to give Dave his present that I was excited about all week. So ever since Dave and I started dating, I've known that he likes plants and things are alive. And I heard him mention a few times how cool he thought bonsai trees were, so I decided to get him one. I chose a fun exotic bonsai that reminded me of the trees in Hawaii near our honeymoon hotel. It was a fun way to remind him of a fun time together and to get him something that was alive.

Sorry the picture isn't the greatest...it was night time when I took it. The fun thing about these is that they can live as long as a regular tree. That means that we can keep it our whole lives. It has been fun to see Dave learn more about it and how to take care of it.

Saturday night was my turn to be surprised. I had some painting that I needed to do on Saturday, so that was Dave's chance to set up something. when he came to get me, I came home to this beautiful set up! Dave had made me a delicious homemade chicken fettuccine alfredo dinner with a preliminary salad course. It was really fun. After dinner we went to see "The Young Queen Victoria." It was a wonderful movie. Dave and my dad both have liked it too. It had gorgeous cinematography and there was just the right ratio of romance, conflict and biography. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

And last but not least is our surprise party for our friend Adam Jones at Classic Skating. it was so fun! I felt like I was in elementary school again. Dave took me out for a snowball skate.

Anyway, this weekend was a blast! Now back to the books and the brushes...

Just another little reminder for those of you who missed my post about my new art blog...

this blog will have my posts about the art that I am doing these days.

Hope you all had a lovely Valentines Day.
