Dave's mission laundromat
This ad in Chinatown made me laugh
The coolest Chinese pottery shop
Chinese food market
The nicest man that Dave helped convert. His name is Darwin and his is a wonderful chef. He made us coconut shrimp.
Amazing art gallery with tons of famous artists in it!! It also had really fun contemporary stuff.
CN Tower
On the ferry to the Island. It gave us a great view of the city.
A maze on the island. I felt a little bit like Harry Potter in book 4. :)
The shore of Lake Ontario. I've never seen such a gigantic lake!
Investigator Antonio and his family. They just had twins, Samuel and Abigail.
G20 Conference security. There were groups of police like this everywhere!
Protestors :( 1 Billion dollars was spent on security to make sure that the financial leaders of the world were safe. We're still wondering why they chose to do it in such a large city...
The Subways were closed downtown so everyone was forced to walk
We think they used these bricks to break the windows.
Happily, we had wonderful people to visit and catch up with to take our minds off of the craziness. Dave taught the wife of this family the new member discussions. She married a returned missionary, so now they are both super strong in the church, and her family including her mother and father have even been converted too!
At church. This was a member that especially loved Dave. Dave was given the opportunity to bear his testimony. I loved seeing him in his missionary element!
Oscar and Karla, the wonderful people who let us stay with them in Toronto.
Ash and Jacob, a member Dave helped to reactivate. Her husband Guadeloupe is still investigating.
Antonio's family at church.
Awesome Brazilian convert who is pretty much a missionary! He had us over for a late lunch.
Another family we ate with.
That concludes Toronto. Believe it or not, we have hundreds more photos. These were just the ones that were especially significant. Toronto is an amazing city and the spirit was so strong with these families. I loved seeing Dave interact with a people that he loved so much. I'm sorry I don't have all of the names, I'll have to get Dave to fill them in.
So you must have been there about 2 weeks to do all that in Toronto right? Wait... Well done guys, you're very efficient tourists. And I love seeing the faces of all those wonderful people!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to go back to Dave's mission! I'm sure it was a great experience.
