Hello Friends!
I was just sitting peacefully at home, thinking about nothing in particular, when a thought just came to me. It came whilst whistfully gazing at the light bouncing off the leaves outside my window. Yeah. It was cool. But anyway, the point being:
It is time to do another deal.
I've been really digging drawing lately, and I want to do a sketch for someone. So here's the deal:
Comment on this post, or go on to my art process blog, and comment on how you would put a free commission sketch to use. You can comment twice if you promote the deal in some way (like it, repost it, blog about it, etc) The comment that is the most inspiring to me (or that I randomly pick from a hat...) will win.
Also, I am offering a 25% off coupon on an 11x14 portrait sketch to ANYONE WHO WANTS IT. That translates to about $82.50.
How's that?
FYI I'll probably be rethinking my pricing because lately a lot of people have thought my pricing is too low. So now's the time to act! This is probably the best offer I'll have in a while! If you are interested in using the coupon, email me at arpartworks@gmail.com, or comment below. Thanks people!
Wowza wow! A free Anna drawing? Ok, hmm. I can think of a PERFECT drawing that I'd want you to do. We just some family portraits when we were all together in Utah, and one of them turned out really great, and as I read this post I was thinking it would look GREAT as a drawing! Just think about it genius, artistic Anna, it would be so fun to not only sketch me, but my entire family! How would I put it to use, you ask? Well, you see, I have this great desk in my room that I use everyday, and on this desk are my favorite beautiful things, i.e. my Anthro bowls, my pretty Taiwan trinkets, etc. A portrait would go great on my desk, and it would bring me happiness to look upon it.
ReplyDeleteLet it stew for a while, and when you realize it's the best idea (as I have), just let me know :)
P.S. The new portraits of you and Dave are sweet!
Anna! We miss you guys! We now live in Sandy. Of course I would love a sketch of my little Rose. She changes so much every week and it would be really special having it done by you, a friend!
ReplyDeleteAnna! I'm glad you made this post because some of my siblings have been asking about your art services. They want sketches of babies - probably really close-up ones, with some neat lighting and angles. Whether or not you pick this one from a hat, imma put you guys in touch. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, please pick us! :) You have to admit, we have the cutest babies in the WHOLE WORLD, and so naturally you'd want to draw them, right? We'll be in SLC in a few weeks so you can get a refresher on how beautiful and draw-able they are!
ReplyDeleteIt's infectious. Spreading to fill my consciousness multiple times a day each time I see this particular bare spot on my wall. The idea that I, the humble art-student-supporter* could have Anna Peterson's work in my house has buried itself into my mind to the point that I will forever hold a wall blank for it, even if it takes me years to actually commission you!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a drawing of my son to put in my house. It's harder than I thought to transition this beautiful yet sterile apartment into my family's home, but the older Russell grows, the importance of having a loving and stimulating environment weighs tremendously on me. This piece would go a long way in inspiring me to finish the home-making I have yet to do by simply being beautiful, and therefore demanding everything around it be up to par!
Plus…I just really want a picture of the little light of my life. If I don’t have the chance this go around, I have already asked Joe for one next Christmas!

*I'm don't think I count as supporting "the arts" until I make some kind of substantial monetary donation to some art program or museum somewhere, but I think I have done my fair share of supporting a few very talented art students over the years... I mean, I frosted a giant egg.
** P.S. I totally had the idea to have you draw my kids BEFORE Laura Tait posted the idea on my wall. I've had this in mind since I found out I was pregnant with Russell, which was very much so before Laura thought it up.
I wish this was Facebook so I could "like" Coryn's comment! Haha!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE a drawing of Cole to go in his nursery. He just grows so quickly. You are the best artist I know and would seriously love it!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I also posted about your giveaway on facebook for an extra entry!
ReplyDeleteI would love for you to draw miss Charlotte! I think you are so amazingly talented! I might have to come take lessons from you!
ReplyDeleteANNA, Oh my goodness you are all grown up! I am andrew peterson's older sister natalie:) You are incredible and I have to admit I was thinking to myself how I would love a sketch of one of my two kids, but one thing I would really love is a sketch of my dad, before the accident. I am putting together a wall with some of his photographs he took and would love to add that to it. So if I don't win, I will have to seriously consider the coupon! I am also going to blog and facebook this so does that give me a second entry?:) OK well I am soooo caitlin posted something, you really are incredible!
ReplyDeleteAnna, I am a friend of Natalie's. I have been so happily impressed by your artistic talent as I have perused the blog. You've got what it takes.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a sketch of my three-year old daughter to have alongside a Mary Cassatt portrait that I have had since I was a young girl. My daughter's face reminds me of myself when I was young, but the expressions she makes with that little face of hers actually come from her daddy. I would love a sketch that embodies her sweet yet silly personality.
you are cool. and i like your wheelin' dealin' ways
ReplyDeleteI hope you choose the winner randomly...because if you base it on which subject would be the cutest, my family cannot compete with all these BABIES! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Anna I just found your blog. You have always been such a talented artist but you have grown so much, you are amazing! I'd love to win the free sketch, it would be fun to have one done of Oliver, or maybe our two pups!
ReplyDeleteYes please! Your work is amazing!

ReplyDeleteDid Hannah take the pics above? They're darling!
I cant compete with babies, but I would love a sketch of my hubby and me :) I hated our engagement pictures and Derek will never go do anther shoot with me so this would capture us before we are old and wrinkling. My fingers are crossed!
ReplyDelete@Wendy: Yes family is included! I was hoping that someone from the fam would apply! And I actually took the pictures of Dave, but our friend Alisha, who you met at the farmer's market, took the ones of me.
