Arty art art

I've been doing some little things here and there to help me through this art rut I've been going through. Sometimes you just aren't ready to dive in and do something super crazy. So, here are two commissions I did recently, that were the perfect combo of humor (I love the top one, I was so thrilled when the wife/mother sent me this picture to paint. It was just a breath of fresh air.) and composition, and were a little bit more laid back.

People seem to be liking this tall format, and I couldn't be more thrilled. I love using it in paintings.

Meet Allison. She is one of my students at Creativity. She is everything I ever wanted to be as an artist. She is bold, she has no fear, she simply does as she pleases, and not just what pleases me. Her eye for color is really amazing, and I hope she continues.  This is her after finishing the sunflower painting below. We were studying good ol' Vincent.

Painting samples for my store might be my new hobby. Too much fun. Here's a little ceramic easter egg I did.

And maybe this isn't under the category of art, but it made me happy. Soooo Dave...maybe a last-hurrah-trip to somewhere cool before med school? What do you think? :)

Hope your V-day was wonderful. Dave taught a group session, so I brought over some treats to the poor little dears.  Thanks Amanda for the great cheesecake-filled strawberry idea. They loved them.

  1. Hey! I'm totally reading a book on Van Gogh right now! And I'm obsessed with that egg you did-- so much better than the stuff I've been making lately!
