BBBBAAAAAAAABBBBBBYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, in case you didn't get it from the title, Dave and I are expecting our first baby!

This has been such a hard secret to keep. I feel like it is such a cruel thing to expect an expectant mother that's life is changing to keep a secret for MONTHS. But we did it. And now we get to tell everyone :)

I didn't write very much about Valentines Day, because I wanted to be able to share this sweet note that Dave wrote on the day of love to our little-one-to-be. I'll provide a transcription below, as Dave is already good at doctor handwriting ;)

Dearest Baby (My newest valentine),

WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH! We're so excited for you to come into our home! I love babies! What a great Valentines Day present for me :) .  Know, baby, that you are coming into a home with parents that love you and each other more than anything else. We know that you are a choice spirit, and we are honored to be your parents. Grow strong, be safe, and above all, be nice to your Mommy! I love her more than anything!
           Love,
                      Dad

I love love love when Dave writes notes and draws me pictures. They are just the sweetest thing and melt my heart.  Please notice the fact that in his picture, I have a nose (and he doesn't). This is especially appropriate because I have a super-de-duper sense of smell right now because of my pregnancy. Dave says I should use it for good, but I might conjure up some evil plots....? No. It mostly makes me feel nauseated. But, apparently it means a healthy baby so I don't mind. It does make me wish we had a disposal...a girl can dream.

Today we got to hear the heartbeat, and confirm our due date. We are so happy baby P is healthy and has a strong heartbeat. We recorded it, and you can hear it if you want below.  Our baby is due September 3rd, Labor Day ironically :) .  It'll be right after we move, but if we're going to turn one part of our lives upside-down, we might as well do it with everything, right?

We can't believe how happy we are and excited and our hearts are just so full of love, more than we could have imagined, and I'm sure it will just grow as time goes on. We feel so blessed. And let's face it, Dave was made to be a father.

Thank you all who have already been so kind and loving to us as we prepare for this exciting progression in our lives. Love you all!

    1. ha I know I wasn't allowed to tell yet and I just wanted to tell you so bad. :) I guess I was empathizing with the desire to wait a bit after you get married to settle in and figure out everything. But when it is the right time, you will know and it is so happy.

  17. I think Camille's right--Seth (and baby) are going to have a cousin POWER BABY. I think he/she will be their hero! And you guys will be my heros: the best parents on the planet! Seriously.

P.S. Dave's handwriting looks so much like Ben's it's weird.
