Life After the Mustache, and Dave's New Car?!?!

Okay, so Dave really doesn't have a new car...but he got a super de duper awesome bike that he can ride to work so I can have a car while he's gone.  Nancy (Dave's mom) calls it the "red racer."  Any other name suggestions?

But anyway, life has been pretty great, just settling in with the 1 1/2 inch long orange shag carpet and the sweet player piano!  No, the apartment really is a blessing.  We're really glad that we get this time to spend with our wonderful Grandpa Richards.

Dave's Life Update:
Dave of course is VERY happy now that he has his new, shiny bike.  He just loves getting all decked out in his gear.  And yes, you guessed it, even the spandex biking shorts.  Look at the next pic if you dare ;)  (Just teasin Dave. Everyone knows you look great in your biking outfit.)

Pretty intense there Dave.  You're going to fit right in with all the pros in your triathlon on Saturday.  Dave has also been trying to observe more dentists in his efforts to figure out if dentistry is really for him.  He has liked the idea a lot so far, talking to random strangers (patients) and making them feel like his best friend, playing with really expensive toys (dentistry tools) and getting free tooth paste.  Anyone know of any good dental schools?

My Life Right Now....
is really fulfilling!  I've been trying to get a portrait business started, and I've managed to get a few jobs! I couldn't believe it.  Its kinda crazy when you realize that you really have been going to school for a reason, and that your classes are really teaching you valuable stuff.  Are we ever going to graduate and get grown up jobs?  Crazy.  But I really am loving doing art more, and bringing joy through painting and drawing faces that mean something to people.  I recently did a job for a mother of a son who passed away, and with a little prayer and a lot of research, I was somehow able to create an image that brought peace and happiness to her.  Love that.  But if anyone wants to see some of my work, the link is wandaportraits.blogspot.com.  And no, it isn't wanda portraits, it is w and a.  Will (my brother) is helping me with the business side of everything.  But here is a little sample of some of the work I've done recently.

My nephew Preston.  He had the cutest cheeks when he was one!  I did both of these in oil paint on a masonite board (wood panel kind of thing).
My sister Kim from a school picture.  She is soooo beautiful!  I love her smile and her laugh a lot too.

So there you have it.  A brief update into our lives.  Oh, I almost forgot...

We have a new tent!!   So if anyone wants to go camping, call us! We'd love to join the party!

  1. I just love your posts, Anna. Dave told me he's really been wanting to go camping recently, and suddenly I think I know why.
